No: 179, 18 June 2019, Press Release Regarding the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Advisory Commission Meeting
Turkey has assumed the Chairmanship of the Advisory Commission of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) as of 1 July 2018. Last meeting of the Advisory Commission under Turkish Chairmanship took place on 17-18 June 2019 in Dead Sea/Jordan.
During its Chairmanship, Turkey continued its strong support including mobilizing further political and financial assistance from the international community to the Agency, which provides vital services for Palestine refugees.
The Chairmanship of the Advisory Commission will be assumed by Jordan as of 1 July 2019.
Turkey’s solidarity with UNRWA will continue in the coming period.
